Lakeside Wedding Ireland – Louise & Peter

It was third time lucky for Louise & Peter. Covid had ruined their plans 2 times before they finally got to tie the knot in Coolbawn Quay. The ideal spot for your Lakeside Wedding Ireland.

First Look Ireland

This pair are the perfect example of not letting bad weather spoil your day. It was pouring rain the morning of their wedding and I was sure our planned first look would be cancelled. Louise & Peter (and Harper the dog) surprised me by plowing on with it as planned and enjoying every second of it. Myself and Martin Healy had great craic hanging off the back of the golf buggy trying to keep Harper under control while also trying to stay dry and document what was going on around us on the way to the first look. Louise arranged for hair and makeup to stick around after the first look. They were able to touch up her windswept hair and slightly wet face of makeup. She looked fresh as a daisy walking up the aisle, you’d never know she was getting lashed on an hour beforehand.

Absent friends

Louise’s cousin, and best friend, couldn’t fly home for the wedding because of tight restrictions in Australia. She facetimed in for the prep in the morning. We tried to include her as best we could throughout the day. It’s so hard for both sides, but this lot made the most of it.

Lakeside wedding ceremony

Because of the rotten rain, the couple decided to move their outdoor wedding ceremony inside. Luckily, Coolbawn have a cool transparent marquee for just such an occasion, so even though you’re not outside on the lake you still get the feeling you are. Genius if you ask me.

Candid wedding photos

Now when I tell you Peter wasn’t keen on having his photo taken, I reckon he was my biggest challenge yet. He sucked it up for 15 minutes and we got some gorgeous formals of the two of them and their bridal party. From then on, it was party time. They really wanted candid photos of them and their guests enjoying the day and that’s where I come in to my own. They brought the craic, I brought the photo skills. Match made in heaven you might say.
