Coolbawn Quay Wedding Photographer – Laura & Rob

Laura & Rob contacted me to be their Coolbawn Quay Wedding Photographer for their humanist ceremony just before the world turned upside down. They were coming home from Dubai to Ireland for a flying visit, we met before they even saw a venue. The pair hate having their photo taken and wanted something super casual, which is just as well, cause that’s where I excel. I walked away from that meeting with a really good feeling and hoping that they were going to book. I would have been gutted if they didn’t. Luckily they did and the date was set.

Covid wedding planning

Their original date was April 2021 but due to the ‘C’ word, they had to push it out by a few months and settled on June 2021. They’d originally planned for 180 guests, but had to downscale to 25 due to government restrictions. That didn’t bother these 2. They were able to have everyone they wanted there.

Outdoor wedding ceremony Ireland

Laura & Rob had their outdoor ceremony on the jetty, overlooking Lough Derg in Coolbawn Quay. They had a gorgeous wine ceremony where they both wrote notes to one another and placed them in a box with their favourite wine, to be opened on their one year anniversary. Any excuse for a fancy beverage if you ask me.

Drinks reception – Coolbawn Quay

Because the weather was so good, most of the day was held outside. They had their drinks reception outside on the lawn overlooking the lake, followed by speeches outside on the bar terrace. This made it really easy for the couple and their bridal party to nip off for formals without feeling like they were missing out on too much craic. Win win!
