Dublin City Hall Wedding Photography – Jess & Ben

Both Jess & Ben did their finishing touches of their wedding prep in the Westin Hotel Dublin so it was easy for me to hop between the two of them. This meant I wasn’t too far away from them should they need me to cover something. Jess arrived with her hair and makeup done so it was just a matter of getting dressed. I was so glad I was there for her dad’s priceless reaction. Dublin City Hall Wedding Photography

Dublin City Hall Wedding Ceremony

It’s only a short jaunt on foot or in the car from the Westin to City Hall which makes it a handy spot for bride/groom prep. It’s no secret that I’m a big City Hall Wedding fan. I just love the architecture, it’s such an historic building to be married in. Top Tip: have a little drinks reception there after your ceremony, you may as well use the time you’ve booked it for. Or do as Jess & Ben did and have your first dance there too.

Christmas in Dublin Wedding Photos

Because Jess & Ben were married in November I pushed them to walk down the aisle and straight out the front door to get some photos while we still had some daylight. We spent about 10 mins trotting around Parliament Street & Dublin Castle before returning to their drinks reception in City Hall and doing some formal family and bridal party photos. Their dinner reception was in the Devlin Hotel in Ranelagh I suggested we make a pit stop in Grafton Street with their bridal party for some fun photos of them with the Christmas lights. Now, traffic was a bit of a mare but everyone agreed it was worth it. The Guards even stopped in for a photo, that’s Dublin Wedding Photo jackpot there.

From there it was on to the Devlin Hotel were they enjoyed dinner with their guests in the rooftop restaurant. I love this more laid back approach to a wedding meal. Jess & Ben didn’t want a formal 5 course meal so they chose something that felt more like them. After some very funny speeches it was time for me to take my leave and let them get down to the serious business of dancing until the small hours (or as late as the curfew would allow).
