Tinakilly House Wedding Photographer – Rebecca & Rob
Rebecca & Rob were married on a temperamental wedding day in August in Tinakilly House. I first met Rebecca & Rob at a previous wedding I photographed. Rob was a groomsman and liked the cut of my jib as well as the photos I made for his pals Vicky & Conor.
The original plan was for an outdoor ceremony, but mother nature had other ideas. They decided to move the ceremony indoors at the last minute, which was just as well because the heavens opened mid-ceremony. You know what they say about rain on a wedding day. Anyways, they’d both got ready in Tinakilly and we’d planned to keep formals until the dinner bell so they could make the most of their drinks reception. They had a Spiritual Ceremony with nods to Rebecca’s Jewish heritage by the Smashing of the Glass. The pair skipped down the aisle and straight in to drinks reception (cocktail hour if you’re American) and mingled with their guests inside the reception rooms of Tinakilly.
Typically at dinner bell, a couple have about a half an hour to themselves. This is where the venue takes the orders and seats the guests. If your photographer (ME) asks nicely this is a great time to do some couples photos. Rebecca & Rob jumped at this idea, so that’s what we did. Because rain was threatening we kept it short and sweet but we got everything we all needed and they still got some alone time before dinner kicked off.
The reception was a raucous affair with gas speeches and epic dance moves from everyone. Great work team. I hope to see yiz all again at the next wedding.
