Horetown House Wedding Photography – Nadia & Ian

Horetown House Wedding

It’s no secret that I love Horetown House. So much so, Darran and I were married there in 2019. Whenever I get an enquiry for a wedding there I do a happy dance and wish to the wedding gods that the couple love me enough to book me. Nadia & Ian postponed their wedding FOUR times. They had enquired with me for their original wedding date but I wasn’t available. Yes, I was raging. When their original photographer wasn’t available for their new date they contacted me on the off chance I was free, and I was. After a Zoom call where we would have chatted for hours the deal was done, I was their wedding photographer. Happy dances all round.

Wedding Prep

Both Nadia & Ian were getting ready in Horetown on the morning of the wedding. This made it very easy for me to hop between the two parties to document the craic. There was bucketloads of craic to be captured.

First Look

Nadia & Ian opted to have a first look. This is where you see each other before the ceremony and do your couples pictures beforehand. I’m a big fan. Not only does it relieve nerves it means you have more time at your drinks reception after the ceremony. Win win if you ask me.

Horetown House Wedding Ceremony

The white room in Horetown House is really their secret (not so secret) weapon. It’s a photographers dream. A white box with floor to ceiling windows, what’s not to love? Nadia & Ian had an emotional humanist ceremony, officiated by Billy Hutchinson, involving as many of their family members as possible. They had an “Oathing Stone” ceremony which is a lovely symbolic thing to do, each wedding guest had a stone and infuse their blessing for the happy couple and their future life together, kinda like a ring warming, but with stones. They then said their vows over a larger stone to seal the deal.

Horetown House Wedding Reception

They hit the ground running with their drinks reception. A few family and group photos took no time at all and then it was party time. And man do these guys know how to party. Their first dance is one of my favourites in a really long time.

Thanks for having me along for the ride guys x
