POSTPONED COVID WEDDING AT KILSHANE HOUSE – KAREN & EMMETT

If you need proof that love always wins, look no further than this postponed covid wedding at Kilshane House!

Karen & Emmett got married in the downright stunning surrounds of Kilshane House this summer. They had originally planned to be married in May 2020 but due to Covid-19 restrictions, they were forced to postpone their wedding day. Their original wedding photographer wasn’t available for their rescheduled wedding day so I stepped in. I’d be sound like that 😉  Covid Wedding Kilshane House Photographer

Getting ready

Getting ready in Covid times is a bit different, there are generally fewer people around and the vendors try not to cross over. Meaning that by the time I got there, hair and makeup were nearly finished and I had one very chilled out bride on my hands. Both Karen & Emmett got ready in Kilshane House on the morning of the wedding which only added to the chilled out vibe. A good start if you ask me. Covid Wedding Kilshane House Photographer

The ceremony

This was my favourite part of the day. Karen & Emmett were married in the conservatory (complete with bird song) of Kilshane House with just their immediate family and a handful of friends. It was a really beautiful, intimate, and personal ceremony. Made only more so due to the circumstances.

It’s rare you find a wedding venue where the inside of the house is just as stunning as the grounds but that’s the case with Kilshane. I was literally falling over myself to use all the little spots around the house and grounds. That light at the top of the stairs is just a photographer’s dream.

The reception

Because of the Covid-19 wedding restrictions in place at the time,  Karen & Emmett could only have 45 people for their wedding reception. From what I could see it didn’t make a blind bit of difference. The cocktails & icecream were flowing and the string quartet kept everyone entertained during the drinks reception. Special mention to the guest of honour, Ralph, the couples gorgeous little rescue dog, who came dressed to impress and tried to steal the limelight away from Karen & Emmett. Kilshane House is a dog-friendly wedding venue FYI. Karen & Emmett skipped into their wedding reception like every other wedding I’ve attended and I slipped quietly away to leave them to enjoy the rest of their wedding day!

I loved this postponed Covid 19 wedding at Kilshane House so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a Kilshane House wedding photographer, give me a shout. Without further ado, here are the photos!
