Both Monica & John got ready in Borris House (handy for me to cover both getting ready). Both rooms were super laid back when I arrived. You wouldn’t even know they were getting married in less than 2 hours.

Borris House Wedding Ceremony

Their ceremony also took place on the grounds of Borris House. They have a gorgeous Granary building beside the main house on site for non-religious ceremonies. I love the rustic look of it, and the fact that it’s a blank slate that you can decorate any way you please. Monica & John chose to have dried flowers as their aisle ends which lent a sophisticated vibe to the room.

Wedding Reception

Although the day started misty it cleared up after so the couple and their guests could take advantage of the beautiful grounds surrounding Borris House. They were able to have an outdoor drinks reception complete with ice-cream van from Teddys and the horsebox serving Guinness and Prosecco. Not to mention Uke Box entertaining the masses.

After a quick couples session around the grounds, including my fave ‘The Lace Garden’ it was straight in to outdoor speeches. I’m a big fan of speeches before dinner, not only does it mean the speakers can enjoy their meal, but when done in this way it feels more casual and less terrifying. After dinner in the Barn, and a quick line out, it was time for Smash Hit’s to get the party started and man was that place hopping when I legged it out the door.
