What a year 2021 was? Sometimes when I look back on the year I can’t distinguish between what was in 2021 and what was in 2020. I think that comes down to doing 2 years worth of weddings in the space of 6 months. The year started with some beautiful intimate weddings. As the year went on, the weddings got bigger, then, smaller, then bigger, then smaller again. Some couples chose to postpone to 2022 but most of them decided to go ahead, regardless of restrictions and they were no less beautiful and fun than the ones I’ve done in previous years. If anything, there was a feeling of gratitude, an appreciation for what we able to pull off. Priorities shifted, and it became less about the things you think you need to have a wedding and became more about the people, which is what a wedding should be about (if you ask me). I always dread having to sit down and pick my ‘Best of...’ because it seems like such a mammoth task but I’m always so grateful when it’s done. It reminds me of how great this job is, how wonderful the people are and how lucky I am to meet them.
