Introducing Laura & Ross. Laura, is my ‘younger’ cousin, as she is so fond of reminding me. She’s lucky she’s sound that’s all I’m sayin’. When she and Ross decided to tie the knot and asked me to do their photos I was delighted but also raging. I knew it was gonna be one whopper party, and I didn’t want to miss the craic. But also, I knew they’d both be beauts so I definitely wanted to photograph them. This, my friends, is the ultimate Catch 22 for a photographer. We came to a compromise. I would work until dinner, then I would down tools and the wonderful Dee Organ would cover the remainder of the day. Best of both worlds eh? You’d swear I’d done this before.

Let me tell you about Laura’s family. They are the most welcoming family. They’re a ‘take us as you find us’ kinda family. They’re always laughing and having the craic with each other, and the love they have for one another is right there for all to see. Laura’s mother, Val, has been known to grab our faces and smother us with kisses and call us ‘the most beautiful child’ without abandon and I love it. Ross’ family, as you’ll see from the photos, wear their hearts on their sleeves. They were all BAWLING during the ceremony. Makes for great photos but also makes for a great wedding. Fun fact: both Laura & Ross’ parents had their wedding reception in the Summerhill House Hotel.

This wedding day was full of love, laughter, fun and a whole lot of dancing. It’s an honour to be able to document these days for people but even more so when it’s family.
