Linda and Noel were secretly delighted when they didn’t have to have a big wedding. They wanted a small wedding with only their closest friends and family in attendance. So that’s what they did. They canceled their plans for the big shindig and went ahead with small wedding photography. There are not many silver linings to be found these days so I’m taking this one.

Small Wedding Day

Because the country was in a semi-lockdown at the time, they both got ready in the Blue Haven Kinsale. They had the whole place to themselves which made for a very chill morning prep. Their small wedding ceremony was in St John the Baptist Church in Kinsale in front of 25 guests. For bridal party and couples portraits, we took a short stroll from the church to their wedding reception in the Blue Haven Kinsale. We managed to do all their portraits on the short jaunt. Noel said the only thing that would have made it better was if the pubs were open for a sneaky pint for the walk. Soon Noel, soon!

Their wedding reception was held in the newly refurbished Rare restaurant. They really pulled out all the stops and the tabletop wedding decor was gorgeous. With sprigs of rosemary in wooden napkin holders and low lighting, they had the perfect atmosphere for an intimate, small wedding reception. After dessert, Martin Healy (videographer) and I took them for a trip in the car to the marina and on the way back stopped for a first dance outside on the empty Kinsale streets. Who said small weddings were boring eh?
