w soon should I be ready

Dear Katie. How soon should I be ready?

I’m having a winter Dublin wedding so I know time is of the essence. I would love to know, What time should I put on my wedding dress? I would like some family photographs beforehand but don’t want to be sitting around in my dress for too long either. Do you have an advice for a bride who hasn’t got a clue how to go about creating a timeline these kind of things?

Oh Aoife,

What a great question, with a pretty short answer. For your own sanity, be in the dress and ready to go at least an hour before you intend to leave. It gives you time for photos with your parents, bridesmaids, and just to chill out and get your bearings before you have to leave. You  might even fit in a sneaky glass of champers before you go. Just the one though, a drunk bride is not a good look on anyone. You won’t believe how quick the morning passes so use this time to take it all in.

You asked about help creating a timeline, I send a catch up email 6 weeks before your wedding asking loads of questions, from there, we work together to create a timeline that works for all of us. I hope this helps you in planning your wedding day. Feel free to get in touch or comment below with any questions you might have.
