Ballintaggart House Dingle Wedding Photography – Sandra & Sean
I’ve been putting this off for weeks now. How do I write about one of the most amazing weddings I’ve ever witnessed? Sean and Sandra are friends of mine. Sean and I go way back. Seems to be the case with Sean. He picks his people very wisely. So does Sandra. You can imagine the rag tag group they brought along to witness their marriage in the beautiful surrounds of Ballintaggart House in Dingle (if you’re reading this and you’re getting married in Dingle, drop me a line I love it, I want to be there as much as possible, anywhere in Kerry for that matter). On the morning of the wedding, they got ready together in the same house. Sean saw Sandra’s hair and makeup but he did not get to see the outfit until she walked down the aisle with her dad. Her style inspo for the day was Roisin Murphy. She was never going to be a traditional bride. I was not expecting a bridal jumpsuit and a cape. I’m not surprised I just wasn’t expecting it. Their ceremony, performed by their close friend and minor celebrity Mags, was an intimate affair. Instead of readings, they had the SONK 6 come up and talk about their relationship with the couple. Some recited poems, some told stories, others, performed shoe tying demonstrations. It was so classicly Sean and Sandra. Mags wrote the entire ceremony just for them and they didn’t hear it until that moment. It was a joy to witness.
The rest of day was as casual as it began. It felt like a house party but we all dressed a little fancy. DJ Tommy Boy, of Forum fame, and his right-hand woman Kate, had the guests dancing ’til the wee hours of the morning. Imagine the place even ran out of Dingle Gin.
Thank you so much to Sean and Sandra for having me not only as your wedding photographer but as your friend. I will be forever thankful for the trust you placed in me to capture your day exactly as it happened.
